Applications for Entry

In accordance with the provisions of the Will of Miss Elizabeth Mageough, the Mageough was founded in 1878 to provide accommodation and care for elderly Protestant Ladies. In addition, we also have agreement from the Commissioners of Charitable Donations and Trusts for Ireland to provide accommodation on a prioritised basis for older Protestant females in the first instance, then older Protestant couples, then older Protestant men and finally older members of the community in need of sheltered accommodation. Applications for entry into Mageough are now only considered on this basis.

The application process for entry into Mageough commences with you submitting a completed application form which is then reviewed by the Board of Directors/Trustees. When approved by the Directors/Trustees, the application moves on to a medical approval stage confirming the applicant’s capacity to live an independent lifestyle in Mageough, which is only arranged when a unit becomes available. The final stage of the process is to meet with a Director/Trustee and complete the Residency License Agreement Form.
