Mageough


Mageough was founded in 1878 to provide accommodation and support for older persons in accordance with the terms of the charitable trusts of the Will of Elizabeth Mageough and the revisions thereof. It is a registered charity and a not-for-profit Designated Activity Company Limited by Guarantee (DAC).

Our vision is to provide a community where older people can live independently in a sheltered environment. Mageough aims to provide comfortable housing and services to enable people feel secure and part of a community.

Mageough is a residential complex of 36 houses comprising of twenty four one-bed and twelve two-bed houses in a peaceful setting of extensive manicured gardens on Cowper Road, Rathmines.

A Chapel was built at inception and our resident Chaplain provides pastoral care and conducts services on Sundays and Wednesdays.

The Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the complex.

Our Care Supervisor's role is to advise / manage / educate residents on their health and lifestyle requirements to enhance their capacity to maintain independent living. Nursing care is not provided.
